Sailing and Yacht

The coastlines of Antigua are ideal for yacht navigating and racing, with continuous trade-winds, and numerous harbors for expedition. Easily a week might be invested cruising around this picturesque island of the Caribbean. The sis island of Barbuda has shell laden coastlines so long that they dip below the horizon.

There are great airline connections with North America and Europe and Antigua is centrally located for Caribbean navigating.

49th Annual Antigua Charter Yacht Show
Dec 6– 12, 2013

The largest Charter Yacht Program in the world attracting as much as 100 vessels.

The Yacht Show is organised and run by V.E.B. Nicholson & & Sons (Antigua Ltd). It occurs throughout the first week of December each year. This will be the 38th year this company has invited representatives from all over the world to check big charter yachts that have cruised from North America and Europe. A Marine Trades Program is likewise arranged by the Marine Trades Association.

Some of the occasions are:

  • Examination of yachts by representatives for the upcoming charter period
  • Marine Trades Exposition
  • Lectures & & slideshows Luncheon &
  • mixer (by invite)
  • Pounding of the Retreat by the Royal Antiguan Authorities Force

Begin Monday, February 24, 2014
600 miles around the Caribbean starting and finishing in Antigua while taking in Barbuda, Nevis, Saba, St. Barts, St Maarten and Guadeloupe.

Classic Yacht Regatta

April 17– 22, 2014
Hosted by the Antigua Yacht Club, this regatta attract in between 50 and 60 yachts every year. Competitors range from standard craft from the islands, timeless ketches, sloops, schooners, and yawls to the sophisticated Spirit of Tradition yachts, J Course yachts, and Tall Ships.

Antigua Sailing Week

April 26– May 2, 2014
Among the top regattas worldwide. Six days of challenging racing run and lots of full social tasks. Held under the auspices of the Antigua Hotels and Vacationer Association.
